Former
President Bill Clinton was like a magnet in LA's Century City
area last week. As part of his nationwide book tour he stopped
at Bretano's Book Store only to find thousands of people waiting
in line hoping to get his autograph on a copy of his just released
autobiography. People waited for hours to be able to share a
few seconds with Mr. Clinton. In some cases they camped out
overnight! In the end, his signed over 1500 books, shook lots
of hands and shared words with a bunch of people who said they
really admired him. I reported on this for UPN 13 News that
day. I remember seeing one woman so overwhelmed after shaking
his hands ... tears poured down her face. The people handling
the media basically rotated camera crews in and out of the store
for "photo ops" -- no questions were to be allowed,
but in our group a reporter wanted to know how Mr. Clinton felt
about the large turnout. "It's wonderful," he said
-- "I love it." Here are some pictures from that day
provided by our webmaster Jocelyne Rohrback.
